United States v. Rahimi

Ruling in United States v. Rahimi, on June 21, 2024, the majority opinion declared that “When an individual has been found by a court to pose a credible threat to the physical safety of another, that individual may be temporarily disarmed consistent with the Second Amendment.”

The questions presented were:

“[W]hether the challenged regulation is consistent with the principles that underpin the Nation’s regulatory tradition.”
