Trump: US-Canada Trade Deal Could Come 'Fairly Soon'
President Donald Trump said on Sept. 12 that a trade agreement between the United States and Canada could come "fairly soon." Speaking to reporters during his trip to Ireland, Trump claimed Ottawa "wants to make a deal very badly." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is prepared to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the G20 summit in Miami, Florida, later this year. "We have to come. We have to meet, talk, and make decisions,” Zelensky told Deutsche Welle on Sept. 11. "It does not matter what I tell him or what he wants to tell me. Only the result will matter. That is all." The summit is scheduled for December 14 to 15.

Trump: US Should Have World’s Lowest Interest Rate
President Donald Trump on Sunday renewed his call for lower interest rates, just days before this week’s meeting of the Federal Reserve. The US “should be paying the lowest interest rate in the world,” Trump told reporters in Ireland, Reuters reports. “I know more about formulas than anybody, and with the best credit in the world, we make other countries rich,” the president declared. “The Labor Department’s Consumer Price Index, a key measure of underlying inflation, on Friday posted its largest increase in four months,” the wire service notes. “That reinforced expectations that the US central bank will raise the target range for its federal funds rate, now at 3.5% to 3.75%, at the conclusion of its Federal Open Market Committee meeting on Wednesday.”
